What God Thinks.
Have you ever thought what it might be like to be God? I don’t want to be God. I know that He is the One and Only, the Almighty, the all-knowing, all-present, all-powerful Creator and Sustainer of the universe and I am just little ol’ me.
What I am asking you is have you ever thought about what it must be like to be God? I would imagine that there are times when God is frustrated and angry about the things that are happening in the world - things that destroy His creation: both human and non-human. I would think that it is agonizing to Him to watch people hurt other people and basically show plain old disregard for others. Especially frustrating might be observing professed followers more interested in building their own little kingdoms than in building the Kingdom of God. Now, I am not God so I don’t really know how He feels about these issues. I can only guess.
I also wonder if God isn’t sometimes sitting on the front edge of His throne in great anticipation of what His followers are about to do. I wonder if He is excitedly waiting to drown each individual in His grace. Again, I am not God and I can only guess at what He thinks and feels.
Recently, a friend of mine made a decision to surrender his life to Christ. I was so excited that I had great difficulty telling my wife about it because of the swell of emotion in my heart. As he and I talked on the phone, he told me that He cried out to God as an act of desperation due to a particular life circumstance. He asked me if God would still accept him because this was an emotional plea for help and not a rational decision to follow Christ. As best as I could, I explained to my friend that God has been waiting desperately for him to make this decision and that I didn’t believe that God cared about the desperation issue involved here; all He cared about was that my friend made a decision to follow Him.
Can you just picture God watching my friend surrender his life to Him? I can almost see the tears of joy running down His face as another prodigal son came home to his Father.
Is this a strange picture for you - that God the Father loves you perfectly? That He is not a big bad entity in the sky waiting for you to screw up so He can zap you. God does care for you and love you more than you can imagine and more than I can describe.
Rest in that. Rejoice in that. Share that.

What God Thinks:
When saw This title on your website it really caught my attention. I thought, how many of us even care what God thinks about us? We are often so wrapped up in our own selfishness that we consider very little about God. He is there if we get in trouble or need Him to get us out of the consequences of our actions. In other words - we use God. We want him, or even expect Him to come to our aid in trouble. Maybe a better way to say it is He is there for us not we for Him. It certainly should cause us to be thankful for God’s constant attitude toward us that doesn’t depend on our faithfulness toward Him.
I have been a minister for many years and I know that I have often taken Him for granted. Though I am now retired I still think about how I am unfaithful to Him by forgetting how much He carres for me. And it is really no different for any person. There is not one of us who was created by accident. God has a plan for every life in this world. Many people are unaware of God’s concern for them nor His great love. We carry this most damaging misconception about God’s intimate feelings toward us for a number of reasons.
A prominent reason is that we have never been taught by our parents or caregivers that we, as Scripture says: “he who touches you touches the apple of His eye..” Another reason is that we often think that God doesn’t care for us or He wouldn’t allow us to go through the tough circumstances we face sometimes. Here, I think, we lose sight that hard times come to all of us because we live in a fallen world. The Word says concerning this: “…For he gives his sunlight to both the evil and the good, and he sends rain on the just and the unjust alike.” (NLT) There is no promise that we will not go through human problems just the same as unbelievers. This world can be a difficult place to live, but God gives us grace and power to survive in these times.
The wonderful part of all this is that God is there is there to lend comfort and counsel in there times. And at the risk of sounding foolish let me say that these problem times do not come as often as we sometimes think. I believe it is a part of living with a glass half full or half empty attitude. When we are in the middle of a dark, difficult time it seems like it lasts forever.
It is good to remember the verse that says: “No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.” I Corinthians 10:13 (NLT) I first began to serve God when I was 9 years old. I have quite a few miles to helo me remind others of the faithfulness of our Lord yet I sometimes forget His goodness to me.
The God who created the universe and, according to the Bible, sustains it by His word (“upholding all things by the word of His power.”) is big enough make you victorious in all of your troubles. Trust Him to bring you to victory today!

I just re-read my response and realized that I made this comment and did not expand on it.

I meant say: that we …are very precious to God.
I hope this helps make my response more cogent.
